About this project

The scope of this Capstone tackles a masterclass series by our sponsor Said M’Dahoma’s Pastry Nerd brand. The masterclass is pay-to-access and consists of instructional baking videos to make baking more accessible. Masterclasses are a familiar format for Said but are typically shot and edited by himself. Our team can hopefully ease the production and marketing burden for Said as he continues down this avenue.
Included in our deliverables are three 25-30 minute masterclasses shot and edited by our crew, as well as marketing materials for the classes with b-roll footage recorded during an in-person class hosted by our sponsor. The marketing strategy was devised by our team after researching best practices and social media strategies of culinary content akin to our sponsor’s.
SAIT’s School of Tourism and Hospitality kindly allowed the use of one of their kitchen labs for our shoot. This allowed for more space and flexibility during our shoot, allowing us to set up a professional setting with proper lighting, a multi-camera setup (including an overhead rig with a camera), and the ability to accommodate kitchen amenities requires for our sponsor’s masterclasses. With limited ingredients and time, our setup allowed our sponsor to deliver instructions and bake authentically and without pause while we also ensured ample coverage for the editing of the final masterclass videos.
