Designed as an academy style awards celebration with a red carpet gala experience, the event showcases outstanding talent from across the Creative Technologies disciplines including film, radio, television, graphic design, web design, and user experience (UX).

Spring 2025

The first Ignite Awards (Ignite 2025) marked the beginning of a new tradition within SAIT’s School for Advanced Digital Technology. Held in honour of fourth-semester students graduating in Winter 2025, the event celebrated the creativity, technical skill, and innovation emerging from the Creative Technologies programs. The inaugural awards were developed by a student team — Riley Schmidt, Shubo Zhang, Neil Capistrano, Chloe Choi, Gio Villapando, Jessabelle Lausuba, and Paige Stacey — working alongside SAIT faculty, establishing the foundation for Ignite as a celebration of the talent and ideas shaping the future of digital media and creative technology.

The Art of Becoming

Summer 2025

The Art of Becoming represented the next chapter in the Ignite Awards story, celebrating fourth-semester students graduating in Summer 2025 from SAIT’s School for Advanced Digital Technology. The event was created by a student team — Angelo Mangahas, Crystal Park, Lin Vu, and Woo Jeong — working alongside SAIT faculty. Centered on the idea of growth and transformation, the celebration reflected the journey students take as they develop their craft and step into the creative industries. That spirit continues to shape the vision for Re:Ignite as the awards evolve into their next chapter.

Building on the momentum of the first Ignite Awards, Ignite 2025 continued the tradition of celebrating fourth-semester students graduating in Spring 2025 from SAIT’s School for Advanced Digital Technology. The event was brought to life by a student team — Angie Romero Ramirez, Ogbonda Orlu-Makele, Alan Moreira, Artiom Khrustalev, Bryce Schabb, Dan Yang, and Marius Tanglao — working alongside SAIT faculty. Together, they carried the vision forward, recognizing the creativity, dedication, and innovation of the next generation of digital technology graduates.
